I feel really privileged to have photographed the opening of Wales’ first Cymru Court at Grange Gardens in Cardiff last week.

Delivered by Cymru Football Foundation, this fantastic new facility has completely transformed the space into a modern, accessible hub for football and recreation, bringing the game right back to the heart of the community for people of all ages.

I’ve visited this site many times over the years, photographing young people playing football and capturing some of the brilliant heartfelt community events that have taken place here. Seeing it again last week, after such an incredible transformation was mind blowing. This site to me, is a really important central place for bringing young people together in the community through football, support and education.

The new high-performance 4G surface, upgraded rebound fencing and kick boards, improved lighting and security, and the clean, open design have completely revitalised the space. I also love the bold Cymru Court branding, which created a brilliant backdrop to photograph.
